Designing a professional website using 960 grid

Developing a professional interactive website takes a combination of strategic insights, creative and technical execution that can bridge the gap between ideas and reality. I always utilize tools that help me work through the digital design and development process. One of these tools is designing using the 960 Grid System, This amazing system helps professional designers and engineers build websites and web applications that look brilliant and function intuitively.

My creative process consists of multiple steps, but always starts with the same question: How can this website help my clients succeed? Based on the answer, I gather user requirements, conduct research, do a competitive analysis, and prioritize the project features and functionality. At the end of this first step I’ll define the project scope. Once I have a definition there are several steps toward making our idea a reality, including site maps, wireframes, visual design, copywriting, web production, and web development.

A challenge is determining how to tie those often disparate elements together as seamlessly as possible. To do this, we have standardized on the 960 Grid System for all of the functional and visual design elements.
